About the Association

The Virginia Cable Telecommunications Association (VCTA), with offices in Richmond, Virginia is the trade association for the cable telecommunications industry in Virginia. The Association was founded in 1966.

VCTA membership is comprised of System Members and Associate Members. System Members are cable systems operating in Virginia, and there are presently fifteen System Members serving homes and businesses across Virginia.  Associate Members currently number over 100 and are individuals, firms, and corporations who provide goods and services to the Virginia cable industry.

The Association is guided by the VCTA Board of Directors, which is comprised of cable executives from companies across all of Virginia and associate member representatives.

Through the years, the Virginia Cable Telecommunications Association has informed members of issues affecting them, represented its members before state and federal regulatory agencies, the state legislature, and the United States Congress. The Association serves as a clearinghouse for information to members and non-members. Each year the Association sponsors the Virginia Show, recognized as one of the top-rated cable trade shows in the nation.

VCTA's Mission

The mission of the Virginia Cable Telecommunications Association (VCTA) is to promote the cable television and telecommunications services of member companies in the Commonwealth of Virginia to the public, the business community and state officials. This will be accomplished through coordinated public relations and awareness efforts, adequate training, organized member lobbying, timely and informational meetings and conventions and consolidated efforts with local, state and national cable advocacy groups. The VCTA will operate by, for and with its members and will be a storehouse and source of member information.
