VCTA-Broadband Association of VA Applauds Historical Allocation of Broadband Funding

“The $1.48 billion that Virginia is receiving in BEAD grants adds to the more than $3.2 billion the cable industry has invested into its broadband networks in the past eight years and will play a tremendous role in closing the Commonwealth’s digital divide. The VCTA – Broadband Association of Virginia looks forward to continuing to work with our state leaders to ensure these broadband funds are used to their fullest potential to connect every corner of the Commonwealth. To maximize these funds, we must work together to prioritize unserved areas and establish strong guardrails to protect these funds from waste and abuse. Virginia’s cable industry has the proven track record of success, technical expertise, and experience to connect the Commonwealth to digital opportunity, and remains committed to getting the job done.”
